While most fine art
printers are cutting costs by switching to cheaper solvent-based inks which were originally developed for the sign industry, SFA still creates
all prints with the more lustrous fine art aqueous pigment inksets. Our water-based aqueous inks are
environmentally
responsible,
and they produce more beautiful and dramatic results. |
Our art papers are made from cotton linters, a seasonal, renewable byproduct of the textile industry that would ordinarily end up in a landfill. The processes used to produce these papers are elementally chlorine free and our producers adhere to the ISO 14001 manufacturing standards for compliance with environmental laws. SFA has achieved an estimated recycling rate of over 90%. We re-use, re-task, or recycle nearly all of the packaging and product materials that come to us from manufacturers. It makes perfect sense... saving the environment also saves us money. |
SFA reduces energy use in our facility in a number of ways. We have installed energy-efficient lighting and all equipment is shut off at night or when not in use. And we use ENERGY STAR compliant computer equipment to increase efficiency. Read more about the U.S. Department of Energy's energy conservation programs. energystar.gov |
